Program Philosophy
_While
an academic education is an important building block for our children,
appropriate social skills, manners,
communication, and home living skills are equally as important. Through
my preschool program,
it is my goal for each child to graduate and
be fully prepared to start kindergarten.
I am always open for suggestions and discussions of my program. My goal is to help working parents in providing the best environment for their child while away from home. Please feel free to come to me and discuss anything. I feel that open communication is the single most important thing needed to make our relationship work. After all, we are both an extension of each other’s families. Please feel free to drop by at anytime. My door is always open. You are always welcome to come and participate and share in our day.

Our Curriculum
_The
curriculum for the school year September, 2011-May, 2012 will
be theme-based using
a variety of materials and learning experiences which
will accompany our study of the alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes,
seasons
and holidays. We develop our phonemic awareness using
the Frog Street Sing & Read Alphabet series, as well as numerous
other curriculum materials. We use the color of the
month in our art and play. We also feature a shape each month which we
incorporate
into all of our activities. We reinforce our numbers
knowledge through daily calendar activities as well as counting practice
throughout the day and through the songs in
the Frog Street's Number Friends. Through all this learning, we still manage to have fun
and play! We learn simple sign language skills. There is a
library center of great children's books which is available to the children at
all times. We love to read together and on our own.
Science and math are incorporated into all areas of the curriculum. Introducing science, math, art, music and literacy as
fun hands-on activities sets the stage for a lifetime
of learning.
